Is there ancient water?

The water equivalent of ancient woodlands,  

could be called ancient water;  

water that is completely untouched by human impact.   

There is none of this type of water left in Sweden.  

 

We humans have had an impact on all freshwater habitats  

such that many species have declined and disappeared.  

But all around the country, a lot of work is being done 

to restore and recreate water habitats.  

Work that is giving results.
