Rare species returning. 

When we restore and recreate freshwater habitats,  

rare species return and the  

water quality improves.  

 

The right conditions need to be created.  

It might involve 

building passages past a power plant,  

Creating wetlands,  

creating stony riverbeds where mussels and fish thrive,  

or allowing a river to wind its way through the landscape.
